Pinewood Derby

I have been keeping busy with cub scouts. The pinewood derby was this last pack meeting and it was fun! We have a great couple that will run the whole derby for your pack! It is awesome. They really did a great job and kept everything so organized. The boys were really excited about their cars. Zack and Taylor spent tons of time creating their cars. I made a Perry the Platypus derby car with googly eyes and all. We had lots of awards and treats for everyone. There is plenty of things I have learned from this pack meeting. Next year we are going to have a concession stand. Maybe the Cars movie playing and some games for the other kids. Not so much graphite. We had a huge mess to clean up towards the end. My advice is have something set up for the little ones!!! I found trophies at an engraving shop here in town that had cute derby trophies for my three winners. Next year I'll order them in advance so I don't have to come up with a corny little label. It was a great turnout and the boys had so much fun!

Bill Cosby

Zack and I went to see Bill Cosby at the Tuacahn. We stopped over at Durangos and pick up some dinner to go. The show was fantastic! We both were enjoying ourselves and all the funny stories Bill Cosby told. He really does have quite the sense of humor! Zack said it reminded him of listening to his Grandpa telling stories. What a great night!

Spring Break 2013

Our spring break was more project based than vacationing! The kids got to lounge around and play computer games, watch movies, eat junk and just be lazy but I took the opportunity to work on some projects/the honey-do-list to get things a little nicer at home while Zack had a "little extra time on his hands."

We had some builders add an awning to the backyard. The Awning Company was great and did a fantastic job! The shade is so awesome and it looks great too!

Zack and I redid the cabinets in the kitchen. They were getting quite dingy and I wanted to brighten the place up! He had us sand them all the way down to get everything off. I had him add a bit of bead board for that wow factor! It turned out really nicely! We are both so glad to be done with that project.

Matthew's 4th Birthday Party!

Our sweet, mischievous Matthew is 4 years old! We threw a Super Hero birthday party for him with all the family. During the party when Zack brought in the cake Matthew wouldn't stop trying to blow out the candles before we were done singing so Zack had to cover his mouth. He was being pretty silly the whole time. It was a good party and he was definitely spoiled! We got him a bike which he was thrilled with until he noticed another toy and didn't quite make it to the bike before he was distracted. Eventually he tried it out. Matthew keeps us laughing! He loves super heroes and always claims to be a new super hero when he gets up in the morning. "Today my nickname is Batman!" he says while dressing up in a batman costume. Good thing I've been keeping all their costumes over the years. We have quite the stash!

He was so excited for his birthday! He took a little convincing that he was turning four instead of 29 but by party time he was telling everyone that he was four. This little man is quite a busy body. He gets into about everything and wants to know everything. He loves to play rough with his brothers but is also gentle with his little sister. He is very loving and affectionate. He is all boy and loves all things gross and tough. We love our Matthew and all he is!

Matthew's Birthday Dinner

Matthew wanted pizza for dinner on his birthday so we all went out to the Pizza Factory! It was really good food. Matthew loved the bread-on-a-stick and his candy lai I had made for him earlier in the day! I cannot believe he is growing up so fast! We love Matthew and all his energy!

1st Grade Patriotic Program

Matthew, Brooklyn and I attended a patriotic program put on by the first grade. William was on the front row singing his little heart out! They all sang the songs, did the actions and had a huge smile on their faces! William did a great job! We are sure proud of him!

William's shiner

The kids love playing on the trampoline but sometimes they get a little crazy! William and Matthew crashed into each other playing out on the tramp on Valentine's Day. Matthew came in crying that his head hurt but it was the huge bump on William's eye that threw me. He said it didn't hurt. Now it is quite the shiner! He has been wearing his stocking cap to school to cover it up so the other kids cannot see it. He's very self conscience! His teacher let him keep the hat on so he wouldn't be embarrassed. Zack told William to show everyone his battle wound, maybe in a couple days?!?

Valentine's Day

The kids were thoroughly spoiled with their candy supply this Valentine's Day! Lots of class parties, gifts from friends and both parents giving treats! Zack got the girls play jewelry and the boys glow in the dark bands. Unfortunately he wasn't paying much attention to the card he grabbed for them. It said Happy Valentine's Day, Grandson! I spoiled all the kids with goody bags of chocolate, then we played Valentine's games and they ate a heart shaped pizza for dinner. Zack went a bit crazy this year! He rented a limo for the night, dinner at a fancy restaurant, chocolates, flowers and a necklace. Where did this guy come from?!? He doesn't usually plan anything until the last minute so it was quite surprising with all the gifts and all. Everyone had a good time and felt loved!
I think I'll take a nap to recover!

Grandpa's 88th Birthday Party

We had the pleasure of celebrating Grandpa Belt's birthday last night! He has been such a blessing in our lives. We are thankful for the opportunity to be so close to him and share in celebrating him.
We sure love our Grandpa Belt!

Choir concert

Katelyn participated in a school choir concert! She did a great job and really got into some of the songs. The kids having fun sure helps makes the audience enjoy the songs! We are so proud of Katelyn and all of her hard work!
